Governmental Affairs Advisor
-Extensive experience in corporate administration, community planning and development and public and private finance.
-Wide-ranging background in government operations, transportation and water resources and health services delivery and funding.
-Considerable access to public and private resources at local regional and state levels.
-Working relationships with key policy makers in the Texas legislature and state government agencies, the U.S. Congress and city and county leaders throughout Texas.
Experience
Burnet County Judge (2007-2014)

• Responsible for oversight and administration of multiple departments within Burnet County consisting of 254 employees.
• Perform judicial responsibilities as a Judge for probate hearings, misdemeanor arraignments, pre-trial hearings, juvenile detention hearings, and Class C jury trials.
• Preside over a four member Commissioners Court responsible for budgetary and administrative decisions.
• Hire, direct, develop, and evaluate 12 department heads.
• Deliver group presentations on emergency management, Texas County jail, and water supply/management issues.
Major Accomplishments:
• Led efforts in Burnet/Llano County to develop a water facility plan and conduct an economic impact study of the Highland Lakes.
• Received Texas “Best Practices” awards from the Texas Association of Counties for HEB prescription drug program and VetRides program.
• Selected “Innovation Finalist” for water facility plan by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
• Received “Gideon Award of Excellence” from the Public Defender’s Office, Indigent Defense Taskforce.
• Implemented fiscally conservative practices and innovative programs through recession resulting in lower property taxes since 2007.
• Successfully positioned Burnet County to be debt free in 2016.
• Supervised construction projects including the Administrative Annex on the Square, and the new Burnet County Jail.
• Developed and trained more than 100 volunteers for the Certified Emergency Response Team as Emergency Management Officer for the County.
• Led successful emergency response efforts during 2011 fires and 2007 flood.

• Texas Commission on Jail Standards, Appointed by the Governor as Commissioner, 2007-2008 and Chairman, 2008-2014.

• Functioned as County Fund Investment Officer and Human Resource Director.

Major Accomplishments:
• Appointed Chairman of numerous committees including the Insurance Committee, Compensation Committee, Policies and Procedures Committee, Hotel/ Motel Occupancy Tax Advisory Committee, and Collections Committee.
• Developed and implemented successful cost savings initiatives and programs.
OLD OAKS PROPERTIES, LLP, Burnet, Texas (2006-2008)

Major Accomplishment:
• Addressed workforce housing issues in Burnet and Llano Counties.
THE SERIFF FOUNDATION, Marble Falls, Texas (2000-2006)
Executive Director
• Managed operations, determined scope of work, and set goals for a non-profit resource center providing services in the Highland Lakes area.
• Developed programs and resources to assist more than 75 non-profit and social service organizations.
• Created the Burnet County Community Resource Guide consisting of health professionals, social service agencies, non-profit organizations, schools, and churches.
Major Accomplishments/Projects:
The Legacy Fund (2005-Present)
• Collaborated with the Marble Falls Independent School District and Austin Community Foundation to develop the Legacy Fund for the Marble Falls community.
• Managed and set-up programs, and recruited volunteers.
• Coordinated fundraising efforts totaling more than $2.5 million in 2006.
• Continue to serve as Advisory Board Member.
Family Services Center (2004-2007)
• Collaborated with the Marble Falls Housing Authority to bring a “one stop shop for community services” to Burnet County.
• Partnered with state agencies and more than 27 non-profit organizations from the Highland Lakes and Austin area to deliver services to residents at no cost.
• Managed the development and administration of the program.
Boys and Girls Club of Highland Lakes (2000-2006)
• Served as an Officer and Fund Development Chair.
• Actively involved in raising more than $1 million to build a 21,000 square foot building in 2002 (debt free).
• Developed a proposal for the Board in 2003 to open a new Boys and Girls Club in Burnet.
Highland Lakes Health Partnership (2002-2006)
• Served as the Founder and Administrator of a 501(c)(3) created to improve the health of residents of the Texas Highland Lakes area.
• Conducted monthly meetings, identified health related issues, educated area residents, and coordinated community response to gaps in health services.
• Partnered with Seton Hospital to implement services and programs including Care-a-Van transportation (pediatric mobile van), elder care fairs, health public awareness campaigns, the Texas Mission of Mercy Dentistry Program, and annual children’s health fairs.
 Marble Falls Annual Children’s Day Celebration (2001-2007)
• Served as Event Coordinator and Treasurer of the Board.
• Provided a “special children’s day” of fun activities free to all children in the Marble Falls area.
• Raised more than $20,000 in funds annually and served more than 1,000 children each year.
TexCare Partnership with the Highland Lakes (2001-2005)
• Collaborated with Travis County to administer the CHIP insurance program in Burnet County.
• Directed operations for the community based organization.
• Raised the total insured from 200 to more than 1,100 children within four years.
THE SETON FUND, Burnet, Texas (1998-2000)
Development and Marketing Officer, Seton Highland Lakes Hospital
• Created the program for Seton Highland Lakes Hospital and recruited volunteers.
• Developed marketing plans to promote awareness within the community.
Major Accomplishments:
• Set-up a new fundraising organization (Highland Lakes Associates of the Seton Development Board).
• Led team to successfully meet all fundraising goals.
• Recognized as the leader of Seton’s Associate Groups in fundraising efforts, and contributed more than $150,000 within two years.
MARBLE FALLS/LAKE LBJ CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, Marble Falls, Texas (1993-1996)
